Who We Are

“…TO REACH THE CITY

HELPING PEOPLE FOLLOW JESUS

The CORE4

A simple way to follow Jesus

Expressing whole-hearted devotion to God & unfailing love for one another.

We gather together to celebrate Jesus and what He is doing in our lives.  Our gatherings at Hope Chapel are designed to help people meet with God and encounter His transforming presence through creative, heartfelt worship experiences, teaching from God’s Word and Holy Spirit empowered prayer and ministry.  People refer to Hope Chapel as a “Spiritual Hospital” because it’s a place of love, acceptance and forgiveness where those who feel broken and weary can receive care, healing and help.

(Matt. 22:37-40; Jn. 13:34-35; Jn. 3:16; 1Cor. 13:8; 1Pet. 4:8)

Connecting in community to be transformed as we are informed.

We are apprentices of Jesus & Students of the Spirit constantly learning from Him through the wisdom of Scripture, by the leading of the Spirit and from one other how to live in God’s world God’s way.  We learn and grow best as we experience genuine biblical community. That’s the way Jesus taught His disciples and if it was good enough for Jesus it’s good enough for us.  So we meet weekly all over the city in small groups called MiniChurches where we connect with others to learn and grow together, develop strong and meaningful relationships and once a month we reach out to our city with practical expressions of Jesus’ love.

(Acts 2:42-47; Prov. 19:8; Matt. 11:28-29; Rom. 12:1-2)

Contributing to the world what no one else can.

The quest to live out our dreams begins when we discover and use our God given talents, spiritual gifts, abilities, passions, resources and creativity to love and serve like Jesus!  There is nothing better than letting God use you exactly how He has designed and gifted you!  Doing God’s Work through God’s Power in you!  That’s what the abundant life is all about!  Jesus said, “If you want to be great, become a servant!”  He  shows us that to really live is to learn the art and discipline of self-giving love especially toward the poor, distressed and hurting.

(Jn. 10:10; Gal. 5:22; Eph. 3:14-20; Jn. 14:12-15)

Influencing more and more people to follow Jesus.

Leadership is influence, nothing more nothing less. At Hope we will do our best to challenge your faith and character and equip you in ways that will elevate your influence and maximize your leadership potential.  Who are the people that God has placed in your sphere of influence?  Is it a friend, a neighbour, someone in the church or a person at work?  Find the courage to use your influence to help them follow Jesus.  This is how we can change the face of the San Fernando Valley from being one of the most unchurched areas in the U.S. to being a city that is transformed through the gospel God’s kingdom.

(Matt. 28:19-20; Jn. 14:12; Acts 1:8; 10:38)
