Worship

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

[18]   But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,

are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory,

just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

The main function of a worship service is to: magnify God in our hearts and lives and to give Him thanks and praise. He is worthy of all praise, but we have set a time aside to make sure that we consciously recognize this fact on a weekly basis in a corporate setting, so as to encourage ourselves to make it a perpetual motion of our hearts; to put Him at the top of our priority list;  to honor Him in all we do.  It is not a time to come asking for God to give us this or that, or looking to receive, but we receive as a result of our giving to praise, honor, and thanks to Him and in acknowledging His holiness and sovereignty in all of existence by singing songs in one voice of unity.  Because the reality is that everyone, ourselves included, comes with some degree of need, but the idea of the worship is to place our perceived reality on hold to give thanks, and in this time of thanksgiving we will be renewed and restored.

As a worship team, it is our mission to use our musical talents and spiritual gifts to:  connect people to God by co-creating a culturally relevant atmosphere of awe that allows us to effectively teach, touch, and transform lives.  The idea is that when you walk in to hopeChapel worship service, you transcend everyday life…  With our service, we aim to seperate the people of our congregation from whateverin the world is blocking them from a pure relationship with God.  We seek to cultivate a passion for God in the members of our church family:  Desiring God and recognizing our praise for Him as the completion of our experiences with Him.

The worship service is a new world; a safe place where people can express their love and thanks to the Lord, where they can confess their sins before God, and connect or reconnect to Him so that when they walk out of the service they take with them a sanctuary in their mind and in their hearts, that, as a church, we have helped establish, so that a relationship with God can transform and guide their lives.  For those who are already believers, the musical worship experience will maintain and hopefully strengthen that bond and that relationship.

Psalm 19;

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

2 Day after day they pour forth speech;

night after night they display knowledge.

3 There is no speech or language

where their voice is not heard. [a]

4 Their voice [b] goes out into all the earth,

their words to the ends of the world.

In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun,
