What is Minichurch?
The Small Group Ministry of Hope Chapel:
MiniChurch is the heart of Hope Chapel. We get the idea of MiniChurch from the way God set things up in the early church when Christians met in private homes where they could hang out with their extended family in a warm, personal setting, safely exercise spiritual gifts, stretch their faith, and sharpen one another as iron sharpens iron.
What is MiniChurch?
MiniChurch is a small group of people who meet together weekly in a home, coffee shop etc. They discuss what they received from the weekend message presented by the pastor, under the leadership of a shepherd who facilitates the meeting. Questions are answered, friendships are made, encouragement is found, and spiritual growth takes place. It all happens in MiniChurch.
Why is MiniChurch important?
If the weekend services are considered the teaching or lecture time (classroom), then MiniChurch has to be considered the lab (practical application), a place where you can come and discuss the Word. If you didn’t understand something, answers can be found. MiniChurch is a place where you can talk about how God’s word applies to you personally.
What can I expect at MiniChurch?
MiniChurch meets for about an hour and a half. The evening likely begins with a fellowship (informal hang out time) with refreshments brought by members of the MiniChurch. Worship songs may be sung, followed by a discussion based on the weekend message and how it applies to you personally, as well as a prayer time where you can pray for each other. Lay pastors called “shepherds” lead your time together.
Statement of purpose:
MiniChurch exists to provide direct pastoral care, leadership training, interactive ministry, and Christian fellowship for the people associated with a larger church body of Hope Chapel.
